Sometimes, as the song goes, girls just wanna have fun! If you have besties you’ve been meaning to spend time with, here are some fun ideas for your girls night out (plus, a few styling tips if you want to dress up for it!). Feel free to do these during whatever time of the day you’ll have the most fun in (not just during the day but at night too!).
What to wear, what to wear…
If you feel like dressing up for girls night and have one of our convertible dresses, we recommend putting on the knee-length style of dress. These can be paired off with pants or jeans as a shirt, or adjusted into a skirt instead of a full-on dress. You can also adjust the backs to either have sleeves or no sleeves at all (depending on where you’re heading out to).
If you’re going out for drinks or somewhere casual with a little touch of formality, the mini-length wrap dress may be even better. These dresses can also be turned into shirts and then worn with pants, leggings, and skirts. Twisted the straps on your back can really give your look an edge, if you want.

Photoshoot at the park
When was the last time you got photos of your besties, while with your besties? If you answer is “Too long” then say no more! A photoshoot at the park can be a fun and unique way to celebrate your time spent together. When you’re done, go out for coffee or drinks and have fun Instagramming your favourite photos!
Ice cream
Because who doesn’t love a sweet treat? Make sure to bring with you a detergent pen in case you drip ice cream on you by accident! If you need to wash afterwards, our convertible dresses come with a mesh laundry bag. These can also double as a beach bag if that’s where you and your besties are going for ice cream!
Coffee shop
Even if it’s at night there’s always time for a pick-me-up! Coffee shops can be a great way to catch up on gossip. Treat yourself to a pastry or baked good if you want, or grab some doughnuts or cupcakes if you really want to go the extra mile.
Movies
Matinees are fun if you have plans later that night, or go to a late night movie if you’re planning to stay out and about for the night. Either way, this is a classic idea if you and your besties have been meaning to watch something together in theatres. Grab some popcorn and snacks while you’re there!
Dance at the club
If you love to dance, then dance! Be safe with this idea as some places in Vancouver BC are seedier than others…. If you don’t want to go out to dance or you can’t find any place that suits you or your besties, there’s nothing wrong with dancing together at home (provided you don’t annoy your neighbours by accident!).
A good old fashioned sleepover
Some would argue that you’re too old to have a sleepover, but technically if your bestie is visiting from out of town and can’t afford a hotel, so she stays at your home, that’s a sleepover! Add to your night with some late night drinks, popcorn, a movie or show you both adore, and some late night gossip if you want (because hey, if you’re old enough, mom won’t have to tell you to go to sleep!). Then have a strong cup of coffee or tea in the morning with breakfast or brunch (depending on how late it is before you fall asleep).
Try new nail styles
There are some pretty wild ideas online for this suggestion! Some people get so creative with their nail art. Maybe there’s a new trend you’ve always wanted to try? If your bestie is on board with this idea, make it a fun night pampering each other. Try different colours and styles, add stickers and stamps, or go all out for a manicure and/or pedicure if you know how!
Try on new dresses
If you and your besties have already done the above, why not spend some time looking at new clothes together? Skip the mall where you’ll feel extra self-conscious about your body and instead opt for
