Got a date tonight? Why not wow them by putting on a wrap dress?
Regardless of how casual or serious the date is—maybe you’re just meeting for the first time—a wrap dress can leave a seriously great first impression on him or her. However, there’s nothing worse than being all dressed up with no place to go! If you’re stumped on date ideas where you can show off your unique style, here are a few suggestions you can provide to your date beforehand.
Walk through the park (or beach, etc.)
It’s free, it’s flexible, it’s good for your body—who doesn’t enjoy a walk? And you can choose to walk anywhere else if the park is out, such as the beach. Rain or shine, you can accessorize your wrap dress accordingly. Bring a hat if it’s super sunny or an umbrella with a jacket if it looks like rain. That way you’ll be prepared for anything—maybe even spur-of-the-moment romantic gestures!
Dance at the disco
Not Panic! At the Disco (i.e. the band), but if you’d rather dance or listen to their music in your wrap dress go for it! Dancing in your dress (it doesn’t really have to be a disco unless you’re into that) can help really show off your dress in terms of how it moves and flows to the rhythm of music (and your dance moves!).
This date idea may not work for everyone if you’re shy or lacking confidence to get on the dance floor, but here’s a pro tip that may help you if you’re in this boat: not everyone is a great dancer. The only way to get over it is to do it—and hey, maybe you and your date will find something in common (like how you both have trouble dancing, or a band you both love to sing along and dance to).
Coffee and a stroll
This is a great choice for first dates or when you’re just getting to know your date at a slower pace. Be sure to bring a portable laundry detergent pen or other means of protecting your dress in case coffee spills by accident (you never can tell). The great news is, if you do spill by accident, your dress is super easy to clean when the date is over!
Walk your dog (or your date’s dog)
Not only will this get you both out and about on a walk (see our previous tip), but also it can help you both bond over you and/or your date’s dog if there is one! Wrap dresses are great for traveling around in and for switching styles around if you need to be outside for a while. If the dog has already gone for a walk, try taking them to a dog park instead. Some off-leash parks even include a picnic area for those who want to bring a snack on their date too!
